I got less than I was getting paid at a certain orange home improvement store plus I was getting rent taken out every week, so it would've been nice to have some more benefits to make up for it.
#THE HUB DISNEY WORK SCHEDULE FREE#
Obviously CPs aren't "real" Cast Members so they shouldn't get free healthcare and all that, but they could sweeten the deal a little. No more simply checking someone in at the gate. Now CPs only get 9 "maximum" passes for friends/family. Did your friend tell you to do the Program because they did one a few years ago and got 15+ free passes? Sorry, you're too late. CPs are the lowest rung in terms of benefits. Only get compensation/benefits if you're part time. And it's not even worth trying to give away the shift to try to pick up a longer shift because it's usually just a 6 hour shift and no one wants to trade for short shifts. I was getting between 20-33 and it was just never enough. Some CPs in roles like Attractions get great hours. I was in Merchandise but some roles get tons of hours. For instance, you get the crappy hours and you can't switch shifts without approval. All of the cons are absolutely worth the job. They still have to approve most things through a Leader anyway, but most of them stay humble and realize they're just a slightly more responsible version of you.īeing a CP sucks but is worth it. Leaders seem kinda disconnected but Coordinators are like regular coworkers that just have a bit more power. One of my coordinators transferred to Animal Kingdom and I thought that was cool. I worked at Disney Springs and I loved when we got coordinators from Attractions or from Magic Kingdom Merchandise stores. They're often CP alumni and it's so fun to meet Cast Members from other parks. It changed right after I left though, CPs can no longer give away shifts without approval which is ridiculous and petty.Ĭoordinators are GREAT.

I love not having to do shift exchanges in person because it's awkward. My Program roommate was from Seattle and she loved her job so much she moved to Orlando permanently and got jobs at both Disney and Universal.

Lots of CPs end up loving their job so much they use Transfer Genie to apply for a part-time job and move into a regular apartment. If I was part time instead of College Program (or if I could afford non-Disney-provided housing, I would've stayed and tried to do a different role.
